We consider building a relationship with our patients to be of much significance and try to achieve this in an ethical, professional, and friendly atmosphere whereby trust between practitioner and patient can be developed and lead to a more unique and hopefully successful treatment environment.
All our practitioners are registered and strive to stay up to date with current information and regularly attend post-graduate seminars or studies. We base our methods of diagnosis, treatment, and advice on sound and scientifically based techniques and principles. Approach and techniques may vary depending on the age, presenting condition and preferences of the patient, which will be determined and discussed at the initial consultation.

Kim Needham & Assoc Chiropractic is a family practice and enjoys consulting with and treating people of all ages from the newborn to the elderly. We like to employ the ‘prevention is better than cure’ philosophy and thus attempt to determine the root cause of the presenting condition and to address this in order to restore and maintain quality of life so that reoccurrences are reduced or eliminated. Some of the conditions that we treat include mechanical back and neck pain, headaches, disc-related injuries and associated neurological symptoms, sports and posture-related injuries, as well as colic, reflux, and related sleep disorders in babies. Nutritional, lifestyle, and exercise advice may also be included if required, as we feel that patient education plays a key role in accelerating recovery and better equipping the individual for their obligatory role in improving their overall health and quality of life.

Dr. Kim Needham

Dr. Kim Needham is a South African trained chiropractor who qualified in Kwazulu Natal in 2001. Whilst studying there Kim joined the sports chiropractic students and worked at various sporting events including the All Africa Games.

After completing her Master’s Degree in Durban, she returned to the Cape where she practiced in the Northern Suburbs for 5 years.  In 2006 she moved her practice to the Deep South and lives in Fish Hoek with her husband and two sons.

She employs an individual approach to treatment and is also passionate about the role of nutrition, lifestyle and exercise in the treatment and prevention of conditions. Kim also has a special interest in treating babies and children.

It is of great importance to her to stay up to date with current information and thus attends a number of post graduate courses and seminars annually, some of which have included functional medicine, muscle activation, foot disorders and paediatric chiropractic.

Her main focus as far as a practitioner goes is to form a trusting working relationship with each and every patient, whereby an individual treatment program can be designed with the aim of restoring and maintaining health through a number of in-house and personal responsibilities.

OUR VISION

Our vision is to build a practice that both patients and other health care practitioners can depend on for ethical, scientific and chiropractic care of the highest quality.  We envisage being a place where people can come for sound advice and where we can build a solid relationship in the community and amongst the healthcare community.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to empower individuals to live healthier, more productive lives by educating them on injury and disease prevention through lifestyle choices, nutrition, exercise and early injury detection.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Our philosophy is ‘prevention is better than cure’.  We feel that preventing injury and disease is far better than having to embark on a treatment journey to restoration.  Not only does this approach result in less pain and discomfort for the individual but it is also empowering, less time consuming and more cost effective.
